Elementary Resources

vbfd safety squad Program

The VBFD Safety Squad partners with Virginia Beach City Public Schools (Health and PE Department), along with our public safety partners from Virginia Beach Police Department, VB's Emergency Communication and Citizen Services (911), and VB Emergency Management to deliver this innovative educational program to students in grades K-5, visiting all 56 elementary schools from September to May.

The Safety Squad program brings engaging lessons and interactive learning stations to our schools to teach students about a variety of safety and prevention lessons that align with Virginia's Health SOLs.

Homeschooled families are invited to join us at our annual "Homeschool Public Safety Day" on Tuesday,  June 4th at the Harry E. Diezel Fire Training Center. Click HERE for the 2024 flyer!

These SOL-based and age-appropriate lessons below are designed to be introduced as a pre-lesson to the learning stations.

Please review or assign them to your students prior to our visit to your school.
